But let’s be real – what even is a perfect mom?

As a mom, I’m constantly battling guilt. I feel guilty for not spending enough time with my kids, for not being patient enough, for not being a good enough role model. I feel guilty for working too much, for not being present in the moment, for not being a “perfect” mom.

What's a perfect mom, anyway?

But let’s be real – what even is a perfect mom? Does such a thing even exist? I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t. We’re all just doing the best we can with what we have, and that’s all we can ask of ourselves. It’s okay to make mistakes, to have off days, to not have it all together all the time. That’s just part of being human.

Tips to help you embrace your imperfect self

So, to all the moms out there who are feeling guilty – try these tips.

Take a deep breath

We love this one. If you can't find a moment to do this with yourself, do it with your kids. Even toddlers love a good in-2-3, out-2-3.

Give yourself a break

It's ok to lock yourself in the bathroom if you just need a moment of me time. For longer stretches talk to your partner and family.

Remember those labor affirmations?

They worked, right? Try writing down 5 affirmations - reminding you just how amazing you are. And don't forget the one that says you can get through anything!

Talk about it

I guarantee everything you are thinking, your mom-pack has on their mind too. Don't be shy to throw out a feeling in the group text.

We give you permission to drop the mom guilt!

You’re an amazing mom, and your kids are lucky to have you. Don’t let guilt hold you back from being the best mom you can be – for yourself, and for your kids.
